The Meaning of Re-employment Courses in the social Jobs for the Retired Male Aged in Korea

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the meaning of re-employment courses in social jobs for the retired male aged in Korea. The social job was focused to their competitive power of job and productivity of aged¡¯s employer. The method of this study was qualitative personal interview with ten retired man over 65 and had social job. The result of this study are comprised of four themes and seven sub-themes. The first was the pre-course. It¡¯s sub-themes are fulfilling or continuing their roles, and struggling with their expended life time. The second was the entrance course : suffering degradation fo their identity, and accepting new standards of the job for the aged. The third was the activity course: experimenting with
their productivity and relationship. The last was the settlement course: immersing themselves in their jobs and integrating their jobs into whole lives. Two meanings were drawn from the re-employment courses: endeavors to reorganize their expanded life time and to reconstruct their labor productivity. Their reconstructed productivity has to be distinguished from productivity of the common labor market. Therefore, cared labor market for the retired aged is required. This study can help to construct a cultural perspective about the re-employment courses of the aged.
